I'M TIRED OF THESE MOTHERFUCKING SNAKES IN THIS MOTHERFUCKING APARTMENT
no rly, guys... there actually was a snake in here. >_>
snakes.

motherfucking snakes.

it was a little green baby garden snake, BUT STILL. wtf, man? motherfucking snakes. in this motherfucking apartment.
i thought about calling maintenance and tellin' 'em I'M TIRED OF THESE MOTHERFUCKING SNAKES IN THIS MOTHERFUCKING APARTMENT, but then i realized they might kill it or something. that made me really, really sad, so trent and i trapped it in an old shoebox and took it outside where it belongs, letting it roam free in the grass.
but anyway, when i told trent i saw something in here that looked like a snake, he thought i was losing my mind or pulling his leg. i thought maybe he was right -- maybe my eyes were playing tricks on me -- so i kinda let it go, but then a little while later, trent was sitting on the couch watching telly, and the lil snakey slithered out from under the couch and on trent's feet.
trent absolutely flipped. i thought it was lolarious. trent didn't. BUT THAT'S WHAT YOU GET FOR NOT BELIEVING ME AND THINKING I'M NUTS.

have to share this:
today dee owned one of the uppity programmers when he came to pick me up so we could go to lunch together. he was talking to a small group of us "lowly" IT guys about the classes he taught today, which caused the uppity programmer in question to look at him funny and say something slightly condescending along the lines of, "oh, you're a teacher."
this pressed dee's berserk button, so he called the programmer a "bitter IT guy", and hilarity ensued.
idiot: i am not just another one of those dumb drones who fixes windows... i'm a programmer! i went to college to do this!
dee: oh god, get over yourself.
idiot: don't talk to me like that.
dee [sarcastically]: what're you gonna do? get me fired from here?
idiot: you're too dumb to get hired here in the first place.
dee: okay. i have two bachelors' degrees, working on a third, and a masters' degree along with a career 4.0 GPA and several technical certifications. i'm also sure a few guys i know here can back me up on that, or i could show you my diplomas if you'd like.
[short pause]
idiot: going to college doesn't mean you're smart.
dee: but you just said going to school to be a code monkey meant you deserved a title that distinguished you from your peers...
[snickering ensues.]
idiot: well, i have actual work to do...
[idiot gives dee an evil look and walks off.]

[Link] | the princess and the frog = awesomeness!
it's like a trip back to my childhood, when disney made a string of really good 2D animated movies. i had big expectations for this movie 'cause it's their first major 2D feature film in almost 10 years. after treasure planet and home on the range flopped several years ago, disney claimed they would abandon traditional 2D animation for 3D, since that's what audiences seemed to want. for that reason, the princess and the frog can be seen as a big risk for disney. it could make or break the future of 2d animated movies from them. fortunately, it lives up to almost all of its high expectations and the hype. you could easily think this was one of disney's 90s movies.
so the princess and the frog gets the highly prestigious mikey stamp of approval. go see it. no, i don't care if you're a grown-up. i am too. GO SEE IT.

what i've been up to:
was formally accepted into the UA psychology program.
got rid of a couple of toxic people in my life.
saw the AL shakespeare festival's performance of west side story. it was AWESOME. the bear bryant thing was actually pretty good too. i don't think i've seen a production there that i didn't like.
got somewhat involved with the campus GSA. the prez is superhot -- not that it matters or anything. >3 oh, and i get to see wolf and play with his gadgets there too. (no, not THOSE gadgets, you perv.)
been threatening to somehow arrange for trent to have a class with dee mr. kelley, buhahahah. sadly, i don't think it's possible for me to succeed in this effort, but i still find it majorly amusing 'cause of an inside joke involving a certain song by the police and dee's borderline inappropriate relationship with one two of his students.
keep asking erin if i can give cowboy crystal meth, put him in the microwave, light him on fire, drown him in the dishwasher, etc. because she absolutely flips out and i think it's freaking hilarious. (the erin flipping out part, not the doing awful things to my cat part.) yes, i'm an awful person.
been missing MJ. :{ RIP MJ.
